VPN for Employees on Windows

Note: This guide only applies to the pre-installed VPN client on the domain laptops of employees. For all other devices, please use OpenVPN (However, not all functions are available there)!

Prerequisites for VPN:

  • The computer must be in the domain
  • The antivirus protection must be active
  • Windows Updates must be up to date
If any of these prerequisites are not met, the connection will be established, but using internal services will not be possible!

Setting up a first connection:

  1. Open the Forcepoint VPN Client
  2. Click on "Connect to New Gateway..."

  3. Click on "OK"
  4. Type in your Username in the format <username>@ad.th-ab.de and your Password. Then click on "OK".
  5. A connection is now built up.

Reconnecting

  1.  Click on the Forcepoint VPN Client
  2. Click on "Connect"
  3. Type in your Username in the format <username>@ad.th-ab.de and your Password. Then click on "OK".
  4. The connection is now built up

Disconnect from the VPN

  1. Open Forcepoint VPN Client
  2. Click on "Disable VPN"
  3. Your Device will disconnect from the VPN
